The inspiration for the name of this page comes from several sources. The first source is, of course, the jazz sideman use of the word where I first heard it from one of my long time favorite Drum Teachers, Joe Varhula - an amazing Jew as well - with the second carnation of exposure coming from one of my most favorite bassists, Jim Batson, whom I have shared stages and banquet halls-a-plenty, the second comes from my fasciantion with the technology behind the costumes of the First Original Broadway re-staging of CATS, the costumes made from Electro-Luminescent Panels, and the third from a nickname given to me by one sweet......woman. I don't even consider the fact that our household was protected from small rodents as I grew to age 17. I am beyond that age today.
Why this page and why now? Well, we already have the Kevin Bacon Game (based of course on "6 degrees of Separation"), therefore I must cover the cat connection.
This page is for all types of cats and since I don't want to draw too close attention to T.S., I won't!
I'll start with the groovy cats.
Billy Mays - who better to start a connection with? With this cat alone, I could probably make connections with the "Brushes of Fame Game" (and as I am a drummer, I shall) as well as any other cat on the planet Earth! Watch how I weave your way into the web of the internet....
Al Lowe - band director, songmeister and inventor of Leisure Suit Larry ! Find out where version 4 is!
Jim Batson, but soon at JimBatson.com (but, not yet as of 10-6-2006) - I have to mention here, as he is of the jazz idiom all over Chicagoland and re-read the first paragraph!
Furries - Are those cats? Foxes?
