Skill's

Experienced as a lighting and sound designer in both student and professional theatre.

Competent with all commonplace sound equipment, including:

  • Mixing desks by Allen & Heath, Soundcraft, Mackie
  • Outboard kit such as compressors, EQ's, delays and effects.
  • Radio microphone use, particularly in musicals.

Experience of lighting design and operation, equipment including:

  • All commonplace theatrical luminaires.
  • Programming lighting desks, ARRI Impulse, ETC Expression, Zero88 Sirius, Fat Frog and Illusion, Avolites Azure, Pearl and Sapphire.
  • Moving fixtures for both live and theatrical (programmed) use, Mac250, 500, 600, Roboscan 812, 918, VL5B

A good knowledge of mains electricity and building up power distribution systems as well as safe rigging practice, in both indoor and outdoor situations.

Experience of both hemp and counterweighted flying.

Fluent at reading music, experience of Deputy Stage Managing musicals and opera.

Experience

Mainly in student theatre within the University of Oxford, particularly of note is serving on the technical crew for the NSDF (National Student Drama Festival). This involved construction of several venues from scratch and then providing technical support to 15 different productions over the course of a week. The post of technical manager of the Moser Theatre, a 114 seat studio theatre, involved being responsible for maintenance of equipment, assisting shows with their get-ins and fulfilling fire and Health & Safety obligations.
